ANNUAL REPORT 2017-2018

Most Distinguished and highly acclaimed Chief Guest of the day’s function  Mr. D. K. Das, Assistant Director,SAC/ ISRO , Ahmedabad & the Chairman, VMC, Dr. Bharati Das,  Mr. Piyush Verma Nominee Chairman Nominee, worthy members of the VMC, principals of neighbouring KVs, beloved office bearers of the PTA, invitees, dear parents, guardians, well-wishers, members of the staff and students.

On the very auspicious occasion of the Annual Day of the Vidyalaya , it gives me immense pleasure to extend a hearty welcome to the Chief Guest, Mr. D. K. Das, Assistant Director, SAC/ ISRO , Ahmedabad & the Chairman, VMC. Sir is an eminent scientist and is a guiding light in all our academic and administrative endeavours. Indeed we are fortunate to have you this evening amongst us. Your presence adorns and embellishes the programme. A hearty welcome to you sir.

I also extend a warm welcome to Mr. Piyush Verma , Controller SAC & Chairman Nominee, VMC. A warm welcome to you sir.

 It is my proud privilege to welcome Dr. Bharati Das who accepted our invitation to grace the occasion. She has also consented to give away the prizes to the shining stars of K V SAC.

I deem it my proud privilege to extend a cordial welcome to the dignitaries, members of the VMC, Principals of neighbouring KVs, invitees, guests, beloved parents and guardians on this momentous occasion and present the Annual Report of the session 2016-17 before this august audience.

STUDENT ENROLLMENT: The Vidyalaya has classes from I to XII with science stream. Class 1 and 2 have two sections. The total strength of the students as on date is. It is one of the most popular vidyalaya in Ahmedabad Region. There is an increasing demand for admissions to all classes, which is evident from the sale of applications and enquiries made by the prospective applicants.

STAFF POSITION:

We are glad to inform that Vidyalaya has a full-fledged staff with principal. 07 PGTs, 09 TGTs, 08 PRTs , 01 Librarian, 01 music Teacher  on regular basis. One German Teacher , 01 Computer Instructor, 01 well qualified Counsellor, 01 Nurse , 01 Pre primary Teacher and a  Aaya are appointed on part - time contractual basis. Besides 02 office staff , 04 Sub –Staff are also  giving their services. One post of Sub Staff (Lab Attendant ) has got vacant after superannuation of Shri Ramesh Vaghela.

ALUMNI ASSOCIATION:

Alumni association is gaining strength year by year with good enrolment. Many students of the yesteryears actively take part in the activities of the school and contribute their might in taking the Vidyalaya to greater heights. Many of our students who are serving abroad in various capacities are in touch with us and have enriched the library by providing with rare collection of books and book shelves.

ACADEMICS:

Jean Piaget says “The principle goal of education in the schools should be creating men and women who are capable of doing new things, not simply repeating what other generations have done; men and women who are creative, inventive and discoverers, who can be critical and verify, and not accept, everything they are offered.”

With this motive  Kendriya Vidyalaya SAC , since its inception in 1981 , has been striving hard to groom the students in such a way that when they step in the global 21st century world , they are fully equipped with knowledge and  life skills  to face the challenges and prove themselves responsible and aware citizens. 

 

 On academic front Kendriya Vidyalaya SAC has been an epitome of quality education.  It is vindicated by excellent   class X and XII results during the SESSION 2016-17. Class X result was 100%. Out of 55 students 13 students got 10 out of 10 CGPA.  

 

Class XII result was 96%. Ku T. Pradhiksha Nandini secured first position in vidyalaya by scoring 92.8% and Ku. Sreya Ashwini Rawal and Aditya Kumar Shukla shared second position with a score of 92.4%. Ku. Neha Baraya scored 90.2% and got third position. The school PI was 67.02. The teachers and students received appreciation certificate from the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. One student Ku. Mansi Tabiyar has got admission in medical, 6 students have got admission in NIT, 01 in BITS Pillani, 01 in IIIT. Others too have got admission in reputed colleges.

Result of classes Pre Primary to class VIII  and XI was 100% .Class IX  result was 95.5%.

 NATIONAL CHILDREN SCIENCE CONGRESS:

12 students participated in Regional Level  NCSC 2017 held at KV Shahibaug .

3 Students have been  selected for KVS National Level NCSC.

OLYMPIADS AND OTHER EXAMS:

 

Total 110 students registered for   National Science Olympiad, 95 for International English Olympiad, 15 for National Cyber Olympiad, 43 for International G K Olympiad, 171 for International Maths Olympiad.

20  students appeared  in Junior Maths Olympiad and out of them 02 Master Kanisk Benkar and Master Harsh L. Parmar  qualified for next round.

Total  14  students appeared in National Talent Search Examination ( NTSE). 01 student, Master Harsh Sukheja has been selected for scholarship. 38 students appeared In Green Olympiad 04 students wrote KVPY (Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana ) examination .

SOCIAL SCIENCE EXHIBITION:

The Cluster Level Social Science Exhibition was held on 07th September2017 in KV CRPF, Gandhinagar.  In Group Song, Solo Singing and Skit the students got 1st position and were selected for Regional Level participation.  Ku. Sakshi secured 1st position in Kavya Paath. In Group Dance, Classical Dance (Solo), in Spot Painting, Shlok Recitation competitions, the students secured 2nd positions. In Solo Song, Elocution and Debate Competitions too the students secured 3rd position.

Km. Venu Ayachit of class IX   got 2nd position in Solo Dance at Regional level.                   CMP ACHIEVEMENTS:

CMP Cluster Level Sports Meet was held at different schools at Ahmedabad Cluster on    16-09-2017. Our students took part in each and every game very enthusiastically and both boys and girls won 3rd position in Kabaddi.

CMP Cluster Level Cultural Meet was held at K.V. Chandkheda on 03-11-2017.  The students of our Vidyalaya won 1st position in English Skit & Group Song and 2nd position in Group Dance

SCOUT AND GUIDE:

The vidyalaya has 39 Scouts, 14 guides, 39 Cubs, 30 Bulbuls, total 122 students. Besides, to train these students there are 5 Scout Masters, 1 Guide Captain, 1 Flock Leader and 1 Cub master.

This year 5 students of class VIII went to KV EME, Baroda for Tritiya Sopan Testing Camp and all 5 successfully completed the same.  7 Scouts and 3 Guides successfully completed Pravesh Pariksha.

GAMES & SPORTS:

Sports competitions inculcate the spirit of positive challenges & sportsmanship among the students and prepare them for the life ahead. Hence Games and Physical Fitness occupy a place of importance in our curriculum. Our students actively participated in different sports competitions and made tremendous achievement. This year 66 students participated in cluster level sports events and 40 students  participated at Regional Level. Out of these 10 students got selected to participate in 47th   KVS National Sports Meet 2017.

This Vidyalaya was also venue for the following events.

Cluster level meet –Badminton –Boys & Girls Table tennis –Boys & Girls for U-14,  U-17 & U-19

 Regional Level Meet – Skating and table Tennis Boys & Girls for U-14,  U-17 & U-19

 It was also Coaching Venue for Girls & Boys Table Tennis

 

Master Vraj Gohil received a trophy for being winner in Lawn Tennis organised by Shaishya Tennis Academy ( Under -10 ) in Ahmedabad. He is acclaimed as the most promising young Tennis Player of the city.

Master ___ and Ku. ________ won silver and bronze  in karate .

OTHER ACHIEVEMENTS:

Km. Sumedha Chaurasia of Class X  in  Resovista Exam and secured 1st rank  in  City as well as State Level and received a Laptop. Maithily Sonawale class- IX , Shivanjali Pathak class- IX, Harsh L. Parmar class- IX , Jay Thakkar class-X got 6, 7, 8 and 10th  rank at State Level and rewarded with wrist watches by Resovista.

Master Adiya Kishtawal of class XI secured 1st  place in Spell Bee Competition organized by PDPU, Gandhinagar and won a cash award of Rs. 2000

Hindi Fortnight was celebrated from 14th to 30th Sept. 2017 in a befitting manner. Various Hindi literary competitions were conducted for the students as well as Staff members on the occasion of Hindi Pakhwada Celebrations.

The students of Class X and XII participated in Project Presentation Event organised by PRL and each participant won Rs. 300 during Hindi Pakhwada.

Students of German language got a unique opportunity to meet Christian Duda, the Famous writer and great philosopher on 28 November in a work shop organised at KV Cantt. Ahmedabad.

Paryatan Parv was celebrated in the Vidyalaya to promote tourism. The students were taken to places of historical importance of Heritage City Ahmedabad. They did sketching there and prepared reports of the excursion which were read in the morning assembly the next day.

The students of the vidyalaya also participated in World Space Week celebration organise by ISRO and won 1st place in Paper Model Making, Cross word Competition and Drawing  Competitions.  Master Aditya of class XI got 2nd position in Elocution.

Km Khushali Meena , Km Mallika   and Km. Ananya Satyanarayaran won 1st , 2nd and 3rd prize  in poster making competition organised by Railway  and received  Cross Word Gift Vouchers of Rs. 1000, Rs. 800 and Rs. 600 respectively .

The students of class IX and XI participated in Essay Writing Competition organised by ISRO during Vigilance Awareness Week 2017. The first three winners of each Hindi & English language received Rs. 1000, Rs.800 and Rs. 600 respectively. Two students in each language received consolation prize of Rs. 300 each.

L.J. Group of Institutes nominated Ma. Aditya Kishtawal for ‘ Academic Excellence Award’  felicitated him with certificate and real (999 grms ) silver medal for his outstanding performance in class X and active participation in other activities.

Mathematics day was celebrated on the occasion of 129th Birthday of Great Mathematician Sri. Srinivasa Ramanujan on 22 December, Maths and Science   exhibition was organised along with various activities.

All the days of importance and national festivals were also observed and celebrated with true fervour.

Under  Spic Makay programme , Dr. Sarathi Chatterji gave a mesmerising performance on 16 January2018. His performance was followed by question - answer session.

The students also participated in competitions organised by Institute of Plasma Research. Ku Tejaswini   and Ku. Nitya Shah of class X won second prize in Quiz.

INFRASTRUCTURE & DEVELOPMENT:

The construction of six additional rooms which started in the beginning of the session to accommodate the new sections is almost completed. We are thankful to SAC   for sanction of new sections due to ever growing demand of admissions in this KV.

ICT & COMPUTER EDUCATION:

“Real education is one which aims at all round development of the children.” By striving hard to provide new platform to our students, we envisage to help them unfold their latent talent and potential.   For the purpose the Vidyalaya has well equipped labs. To keep abreast with technology there are 62 computers .These are provided by ISRO. The ratio of the computers and the students is 1to 6 which is an outstanding ratio.

LIBRARY:

 The library is well maintained and is fully air conditioned with bar coding system. Students find it a pleasure to go to library and enrich them with knowledge.  There is a collection of 10076 exclusive books.  32 magazines and 04 news-papers are subscribed in the library.

Book fair was organized by Navneet Publication on 20th & 21st July– 2017  in the vidyalaya hall.

INSERVICE COURSE & TRAINING:

 To keep the teachers abreast of latest developments in educational pedagogy, educational and provide subject enrichment, the teachers were sent to different in-service courses and workshops.

Mrs Jamie James received the training in the capacity of The Course Director for ‘Swasth Bachche, Swasth Bharat Programme’ and impart training in other schools of Ahmedabad Region.  

Mrs Seema Surolia, Mr. Bhaskar P Vankar, Ms.Bhakti  Joshi, & Mrs Prerna Shukla attended in-service course  for their professional growth.

Ms. Bhakti Joshi attended three day work shop at KV Shahibaug on Adolescent Education Programme.

Mrs kiran Mishra and three students attended 03 day work shop on World Schools Debating Championships , Ahmedabad Chapter organised  from 7 October to 9 October 2017. The students participated in the debates and got an opportunity to enhance their debating skills.

The Vidyalaya has grown to present stature due to sincere efforts of the students, teacher fraternity and great support of our patrons. My sincere thanks and gratitude to all for their plausible trust and immense support.

For all the infrastructural facilities and support, in particular, I express my gratitude to SAC. I also thank  KVS authorities for their valuable  guidance and support. Once again I welcome our Chairman Mr. D.K. Das , Dr. Bharti Das,  Nominee Chairman Mr. Piyush Verma, Members of VMC, Distinguished guests & worthy parents.
